Faddoul Supermarket has a brilliant new(ish) logo

Faddoul Supermarket. Apparently one of the best supermarkets in Lebanon even if it only has one branch. But the products, service and experience are - according to hearsay - second to none. And it has a brilliant new logo. How new? Well, let me be honest, last time Faddoul used its older logo was Sept 22 2025 on its facebook (here), the first time it used its new logo was Sept. 23 of the same year (here). I could be mistaken but it was only recently that the logo made it to the outside of the store - have not seen it displayed prior (say, 2 months ago).

What is brilliant about the logo is the exceptionally smart use of the negative space to make the letter F... And if you look closely, there is the S as well but also, because we all put our supermarket bags tospy turvy - for good measure if you flip the logo (and apart from the negative space) you have another F coming your way.

Like how cool, smart and incredibly smart is that?

Promarché has landed in Adma, now... Is Adma ready?

Well, Promarché is widening its footfall. From a recent opening in Antelias, now comes Adma hot on its heels. Now, Adma is quite a well to do suburb that is for sure, but Promarché is not starting in some barren land. As a matter of fact there is a huge competition there - many supermarkets already entered the area and secured large chunks of clientele. So Promarché has some very tough terrain to climb. But who knows, with its fresh produce promises, its many a high end merchandises perhaps Promarché was the niche brand Adma did not know it needed. Still, the ads cannot be hidden from the "We're landed" to the inviting "Adma let's go"... A call to action without being too overt or too cheapo. Just what Adma might like.

Promarché - look who's talking now.

Deodorant? Lettuce? Cheese? Well, look who's talking now! (and no, not the film). So Promarché with the help of Joefish flipped the angle - what if products told the story and not the other way around. Interesting view so why not? The OOH campaign could not convey the exact build up but still managed with one still shot to transmit the idea of here's looking at you! But you'll have to be more open.... minded. Or open for more freshness and tastiness, because you never know when the right product will end up bagging you, not the other way around!

Tawfeer flexes its cart muscles

Well, you don't see that every day, a cart flexing its muscles. Well, the image is from their instagram although the campaign is all over the billboards. Tawfeer prides itself for its low prices (actually "tawfeer" literally means "sparing money"), and they are emphasizing the slogan "no one can beat us" ergo the card with the flexed muscle as a visual. Is it tacky? Yes. It is visually arresting? For better or for worse, yes. Does it hit the target audience wishing to spend less? In today's economy in Lebanon, also a yes. So, regardless of the visual, the campaign delivers indeed for its desired audience.

Tawfeer - all over town and then some

A discount supermarket? Well, say no more - suddenly Tawfeer is all over the place. And by that I mean the gigantic campaign it has launched. Really, every other billboard is now exhibiting the Tawfeer campaign, which basically has three visuals all of them claiming the same thing (interestingly, the three visuals are of different colors, so it's not like you were mistaking them or anything), the line they picked is "there's nothing better than our prices but our quality" all this signed with "your intelligent choice". Do note that the background of the billboards is actual products they sell (above you can see pasta and chocolate). I suppose with Christmas right behind the corner, Tawfeer decided to be the place where people would shop with a value proposition considering everyone is trying to save their penny to say the least.
