Smash Plus - mosquito season is on

Smash Plus - this means mosquito season is on (though one cannot tell it by the weather where I am where it is always gloomy and very cold for a June!). Am trying to think of anything apart from the wonderful ad they had in 2021 (here) and their follow up in 2025 (here) and now they come with a double ad. "Akalna el baghash" which originally means "mosquitoes have eaten us" but if you add the Pac Man - and yes you are forgiven not to understand the nod - it means "we have eaten the mosquitoes" (this for the spay) for the tablets they went into "we took off the screen netting and installed Smash". Both work actually, and on the gates of a summer that still did not show up, seem quite timely.

Smash Plus, knows how to read the room.

Sometimes easy does it. Well, what do mosquitoes prevent you from? A good night's sleep. What do you do? Put a mosquito net (well, not always but that was the idea at base). The ad above joins "l'utile a l'agreable" as the French say (the useful to the enjoyable). It says "nemo" (sleep) and "nemo-usiye" (mosquito net). Smash! (a pun, in case you did not get it because that's the product's name!).

See? Told you easy does it. For reference, Smash Plus had a good ad prior (here).

Smash Plus anti mosquito - made in Lebanon

Well, now is the time to encourage anything made in Lebanon as it is the only way to go out of the rentier economy we plunged in for several decades which crippled the economy. Which brings us to "Smash Plus" - the anti mosquito made in Lebanon which is a welcome change from other imported brands (you know which ones I speak of!). Now the ad speaks of "fortified protection for you and your family" (interestingly the Arabic language makes a clear distinction when speaking to males and females and this one was kept neutral by avoiding the distinction emphasis through "annotation" or "7arakat" as they are known in Arabic). The background is a stack of such tablets so that they would appear as "bricks" of a wall (fortified protection, remember?) and on the whole, the ad by its mere existence in a market which I already called flatlined is a welcome addition.
