Vaseline: Winter glow? For spring? Groundbreaking!

So who knew the wrong timing would be right bang on time? Vaseline - with its "own your winter glow" in May could have been a misfire. But considering the freezing weather we had in Lebanon, including 8 meters of condensed snow in Ainata-El Arz where snow ploughs could barely open a pedestrian road, and rain galore and people regretting taking out their carpets already, suddenly "own your winter glow" (here) from Pimo does not seem too farfetched! And so voila, you could still apres-ski at this time of year I suppose, just put on some Vaseline with it.

Vaseline goes to the slopes.

Vaseline went to it is needed the most: The slopes! (here) Apart from all the activities and winnings and whatever what attracted me the most is the pure logic of it all. I mean if you are skiing (and no, I do not, still learning to walk without tripping) you definitely need hydration for your lips and skin and what not, so honestly the place is just super-logical for a product like Vaseline. So here we go, now Pimo has done it! As they say in French "il fallait y penser".

For OMT time to ski!

And here they are, right bang on the Mzaar ski station OMT goes - apparently everywhere. And by this I mean their branding is literally all over inside, outside, on the walls, before you go on the lifts. And of course this comes with a strategic cashback offer of 20%. This, from what I understood from Joe Fish is just a small sample of what is to come later. But as is this is a show of force for a brand that has come to replace banks in Lebanon due to the fact that we are now a cash economy.

Faraya, an ad circa 1965 for Christmas and New Year's celebrations

Ah - so Faraya, the snowy, sleepy village with the ski station....

"For 45 Liras, the price includes transport from and to Beirut, dinner, dancing party with europen (sic) orchestre and hotel full board for 24 hours. Note: christmas mass will be held on snow (sic)"

The only "Bissani Travel Agency" I found is one operating in Italy. I was simply trying to locate the year the ad was posted. But well, it fell into my lap as is. Note that the telephone number is without code so that was then before this was inaugurated. Also 45 Liras, and judging from a different ad with the same variation of prices (here), I would estimate this to be on Christmas 1965.
