Unicef is running a powerful # which goes #endviolence or in Arabic #بدي_ربيك_بلا_عنف which is a play of words on "baddi rabbik" (which means in slang "I am going to knock some sense into you" and literally "I am going to raise you") and then "bala 3enf" (without violence). So the Arabic tag plays on a negative aspect only to counter it and make it more palatable and humane. Of course violence of every form is rampant in the Arab world, there are even parents who still tell teachers "el jeldet elak wel 3admen elna" (the skin is yours and the bones are ours - meaning "strike the kid as hard as you want).
