If anyone was betting the short memory of people, and how they might swallow any message just because it is convenient, and how people can rewrite the past to suit the present like in George Orwell's 1984 novel, then look no further than the Future Movement announcing proudly how the army is "the only one protecting everyone" (with the colors of the flags indicative of those of the Lebanese different parties). The movement has been very vocal in the ant-Army sentiment specifically that it is Sunnite and so are the terrorists which are being fought, so killing them (even if to safeguard the country's integrity) seemed asking a lot of out of the Future Movement. But hey, an ad is an ad, and this appeals to the most basic of instincts.
