Carlton Hotel - questioning history (13)

Built in 1957 and demolished in 2008, the Carlton hotel had the unique feature of having all its rooms facing the sea and was designed by Karol Schayer. It was one of the landmarks symbolizing the Beirut grandeur - and one of the elements which gave it the "Paris of the Middle East" cachet.
