This is a case that never ceases to fascinate me! The Saudia - or Saudi Airlines which is the kingdom that basically holds the banner of Islam throughout the world - had the logo above (the one on top), and the major problem with it was that, once you looked at the negative space between the S and the A a huge cross would be starting back at you. That Saudia sponsored the Leyland Formula 1 team while sporting this logo (in 1980) insures that - even it was changed to the subsequent one shown above (below in the photo) - the cross-laden one still holds its place in perpetuity. The current Saudia logo lacks the punch of the two and is now a simple with little or no character.
