Marjan Shatila has been posting criptic short videos on her
instagram account and they are a beauty to behold. Far the "perfect" memory of Beirut everyone paddles and wishes for in the Millenial generation, there is a very haunting element in Shatila's works, a sort of impending doom, a premonition of the ugliness to come. Her works are based on archival images, and yes, I love the way her characters are drawn and how the animation is far from perfect as it challenges notions of beauty.
