Whereas, thankfully, the tendency to exhibit the dead figures (specifically politicians) on the street billboards is now much less than it used to be, there is the always the yearly commemoration of them which goes around. The above example is for Elie Hobeika (Saturday 21st 2017, St. Takla Church Hazmieh), but he is only one example of the series.
When the whole public figures death (or injuries) was occurring, I remember there was a campaign launched on the billboards for them, ironically when a new bomb targeted a new personality, the later's face was posted haphazardly on top of the older ones. It all reminded me of Milan Kundera's short story (of his beautiful book "laughables loves"): "Let the old dead make room for the young dead".
In Lebanon, much like Haley Joel Osment of the Sixth Sense, we see dead people.
