Ah what a few years' difference in politics can do! One of the last ads of the last municipal campaign by Karamet Jounieh was "el kell dodna el 3adra ma3na" (everyone is against us, but the Virgin Mary is with us - in an allusion to Harissa (Our Lady of Lebanon) which is above Jounieh but technically is in a different village altogether). And now? A word play on the Wadih El Safi song "3indak bahria" (you have sailors, boss) with the line "and the situation is cool - boss!"
Seriously, the party started and not even one vote was cast!
