Nike - Allah controversy ignites all over again!

Images compiled from net sources

In 1997 it was the Nike Air Bakin' with the Nike logo in the shape of a fiery logo. It made such a furore that the shoe was pulled due to it resembling Allah in Arabic calligraphy (mind you that was prior to social media!). Nike plunges again in the same pool with the Air Max 720 due to the same reason. Nike issued a statement at this point:
“Nike respects all religions and we take concerns of this nature seriously. The AIR MAX logo was designed to be a stylized representation of Nike’s AIR MAX trademark. It is intended to reflect the AIR MAX brand only. Any other perceived meaning or representation is unintentional.”
