Robert Graham where politics meets fashion

Fashion has intersected with politics for a long long time, wear orange in Lebanon and - you guessed it - your political affiliation is known (journalist Warren Singh Bartlett who counts orange as one of his favorite colors had to drop this as, living in Beirut, it was tedious to explain that the fashion choice did not go hand in hand with his any political affiliation). But colors aside it is not uncommon to put political effigies on t-shirts and what no (if I see one more Guevara t-shirt I will scream!). The couture dress with Segolene Royal - then candidate for the French elections - falls in the same perspective of mixing fashion and voting from the 2007 collection of Guillermo Mariotto for Gattinoni (the same collection included a Hillary Clinton dress and an Elizabeth II one). ANother instance which I can remember is our own local Aizone upscale fashion retailer with their "Vote" video launched to entice the Lebanese youth to express their political opinion in the elections of 2005.
