Kim Philby. Why is it that Beirut is always at the crossroad of intrigue? And Ali the headwaiter at the St. George Hotel bar seeing them daily, with the master double-agent being tucked in the middle of a stormy January night on the Dolmatova freight ship headed to the motherland out in the cold: Russia. But in the meantime, Beirut is and will always be the address of spies to be.
